Journalist shot dead in Peshawar, accused arrested
PESHAWAR: Tahir Hussain, Cime reporter of local daily Frontier News was gunned down allegedly by his in-laws in Jahngir Pura, jurisdiction of Khan Raziq Shaheed police station on Tuesday midnight. (13th August,2019)
Police official said that Tahir Hussain son of Altaf Hussain was shot dead by his relatives identified as Abdul Raouf son of Abdul Manaaf, Ibrahim alias Khany along with two others colleagues, in front of his house.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving the information and shifted the body to Hospital for medico-legal procedure.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Karim Khan and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Zahoor Bababr Afridi took notice of the incident and constituted a police team in the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) City Gohar Khan.
After hectic efforts a police team arrested a main culprit, Abdul Raouf and shifted him to undisclosed place for further investigation. Police official said that the raids are continues on the hideouts of others culprits and they will be arrested soon.
Tahir Hussain has left behind two minor sons and a daughter. He had been an employee of daily The News International in Peshawar in the recent past.
Journalist Community condemned the killing of local journalist Tahir Hussain and demanded to arrests of the others culprits involved in the killing.
