PFUJ announces second round of protests on November 11
ISLAMABAD—The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has announced the second round of countrywide protests on November 11.
The protests will be against:
- Non-implementation of the wage award
- Continued layoffs by news organizations’
- Wage delays and salary cuts by media houses
- Suspension of Channel 24 Television
- Issues of regional newspapers
- Abductions and harassment of journalists
- Anti-media policies of the government and PEMRA
- Retrenchments at Radio Pakistan
- Forced early retirements and non-payment of dues to retired PTV employees.
PFUJ has called on journalists to make this round of protests successful, like the last one on October 22.
