Women’s workshop 2002
Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF)with the collaboration of UNESCO organised a three day Women Journalism Training Workshop in the Government Girls Model High School, Ahmedpur East, from 27 to 29 June 2002. The workshop was attended by 26 teachers, doctors, professional women and educated housewives not only from Ahmed Pur Sharqia but also from neighbouring towns. Many requests for participation had to be turned down in order to keep the attendance to a manageable level. Deputy Head Mistress Ms Syeda Najma Bukhari (who is also a master trainer in science) co-ordinatored while the Vice Chairman PPF Fazal Qureshi, Director Ms Samina Ishaque and Convener RMNP Ehsan Ahmed Sehar were the media trainers. The President of the Bahawalpur Chambers of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chaudhry Tahir Jamil, Director of the Museum Hafiz Hussein Ahmed Madni and former Chairman Municipal Committee AhmedpurEast Mian Ilyas Ayaz distributed certificates to participants.
