RMNP to hold training workshop for Ahmedpur journalists on October 22

AHMEDPUR EAST: Rural Media Network Pakistan (RMNP) will organise a training workshop on October 22, 2026 for members of the Ahmedpur Union of Journalists Workers and journalists associated with the Journalists Alliance Pakistan – Tehsil Press Clubs South Punjab Chapter, RMNP President Ehsan Ahmed Sehar announced.

He made the announcement while presiding over the monthly meeting of the Ahmedpur Union of Journalists Workers at Punjab College, Ahmedpur East, where members requested that a training programme be arranged to strengthen the professional capacity of journalists working in the area.

Ehsan Ahmed Sehar said the workshop would provide an opportunity for journalists from Ahmedpur East and Journalists Alliance Pakistan – Tehsil Press Clubs South Punjab Chapter to enhance their professional knowledge and skills. The programme will be organised by RMNP as part of its continuing efforts to support capacity building among journalists at the grassroots level.

The meeting also discussed organisational matters of the Ahmedpur Union of Journalists Workers, its performance and issues confronting journalists working in the region. It was decided that the union’s monthly meeting would be held during the first week of every month.

The participants also adopted a resolution urging the Prime Minister not to take action against journalists and anchors under the PECA law and discussed concerns relating to the rights and professional security of journalists.

Hamidullah Khan Aziz, Shabbir Ahmed Qureshi, Ahmed Ali Chaudhry, Malik Rashid Mahmood Chanr, Muhammad Jamshed Iqbal Bhatti, Khadim Hussain Shaheen Lashari, Muhammad Sajjad, Shah Wali Khan, Jameel Mahmood, Anisa Kanwal, Muhammad Yousuf Ghani Qureshi, Zahid Baloch, Chaudhry Sajjad Ahmed and Muhammad Khalid Nawaz Khan participated in the discussion.
