Sadia Kamal announces the affiliation of Ahmedpur Union of Journalists with Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Workers
The event held at Punjab College presided over by AUJ Founder and Patron-in-Chief Ehsan Ahmed Sahar, while Dr. Sadia Kamal, Central President of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Workers, was the chief guest.
The ceremony strongly condemned the assassination attempt on Shahid Ali, President Press Club Faisalabad, and demanded that the attackers be brought to justice
Ahmedpur East: Dr. Sadia Kamal, Central President of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Workers, announced the affiliation of Ahmedpur Union of Journalists Ahmedpur Sharqia with PFUJ Workers. In this regard, a ceremony was held at Punjab College under the chairmanship of Founder and Patron-in-Chief Ahmedpur Union of Journalists Ahmedpur Sharqia Ehsan Ahmed Sahar, in which Dr. Sadia Kamal, Central President of PFUJ Workers, participated as the chief guest. In her address, Dr. Sadia Kamal highlighted the problems faced by working journalists across the country, the situation of press freedom and the legislation made regarding cybercrimes, and also covered the historical services rendered by the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists in various periods to protect the rights and interests of the journalist community.
Dr. Sadia Kamal, the central president of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists, announced the affiliation of Ahmedpur Union of Journalists Ahmedpur Sharqia with PFUJ workers at the request of the founder of AUJ, which was welcomed by the union members with applause and desk replacements.
In his presidential address,founder & Patron-in-Chief AUJ Ehsan Ahmed Sahar talked about the performance of Ahmedpur Union of Journalists Ahmedpur Sharqia in the last three years: He said that in the last three years, Ahmedpur Union of Journalists Ahmedpur Sharqia has organized a training workshop for its members, distribution of training digital materials and manuals, World Press Freedom Day round table and a condolence reference to pay tribute to the services of the deceased journalists of the Ahmedpur Sharqia Sub-Division, and God willing, this series will continue in the near future.
In the ceremony, a resolution was passed strongly condemning the assassination attempt on Shahid Ali, President of the Press Club Faisalabad, and demanding that the attackers be brought to justice. In another resolution, the government was asked to withdraw the amendment to the PECA Act and to take all stakeholders into confidence before enacting media-related legislation. At the end of the ceremony, on behalf of the Ahmedpur Union of Journalists, Ahmedpur Sharqia, Patron Muhammad Suleman Farooqi, President Dr. Abdul Hameed Saqib and General Secretary Hameedullah Khan Aziz presented the Ajrak to Dr. Sadia Kamal, Central President of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists.
