Anjuman-e-Tajran President Fulfils Commitment to Support Deserving Journalists

Syed Waqar-ul-Haq Shah Presents Journalists Support Cash Awards to Two Working Journalists of Press Club Samasata

Samasata: Syed Waqar-ul-Haq Shah, President of Anjuman-e-Tajran Samasata, has fulfilled the commitment he made to RMNP President Ehsan Ahmed Sehar during the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Alvi Journalists Chambers on 10 May 2026.

The commitment was made at the inauguration of the journalists’ chambers established by Iftikhar Ahmed Alvi, Patron-in-Chief of Press Club Samasata and correspondent of Daily Nawa-i-Waqt, together with his younger brother Waqar Ahmed Alvi, correspondent of Daily Jang.

At a ceremony held at a local marriage hall in Samasata, Syed Waqar-ul-Haq Shah, in his personal capacity, presented the Syed Waqar-ul-Haq Shah Journalists Support Cash Awards and commemorative shields to two deserving working journalists of Press Club Samasata:

  • Malik Tariq Arain, correspondent of Daily 92 News.
  • Arslan Chughtai, correspondent of Daily Baithak.

The ceremony was attended by Iftikhar Ahmed Alvi, Patron-in-Chief of Press Club Samasata, Shahid Ali Khan, President of the Press Club, prominent citizens, and a large number of Press Club members.

RMNP Appreciates the Personal Initiative

RMNP President Ehsan Ahmed Sehar expressed his gratitude to Syed Waqar-ul-Haq Shah for honouring his commitment. He expressed the hope that Shah would continue this personal initiative by presenting the Syed Waqar-ul-Haq Shah Journalists Support Cash Awards every year to two deserving working journalists of Press Club Samasata.

It is noteworthy that Iftikhar Ahmed Alvi, Patron-in-Chief of Press Club Samasata, also serves as RMNP Coordinator for Samasata.

Khanqah Sharif to Be Encouraged to Launch Similar Awards

During a subsequent telephone conversation with RMNP President Ehsan Ahmed Sehar, Syed Waqar-ul-Haq Shah confirmed that he would continue presenting the Journalists Support Cash Awards annually on 14 August, Pakistan’s Independence Day, to two deserving journalists of Press Club Samasata.

He further informed the RMNP President that, after Ashura of Muharram, he would meet the President of Anjuman-e-Tajran Khanqah Sharif to encourage him to institute a similar programme for two deserving journalists of Press Club Bahawalpur.

RMNP President to Join Proposed Meeting

During the conversation, it was agreed that RMNP President Ehsan Ahmed Sehar would also participate in the proposed meeting with the President of Anjuman-e-Tajran Khanqah Sharif to promote the expansion of this journalists’ support initiative to Bahawalpur.
