Senior & young journalists receive UNESCO-UNDP Election Reporting Training Manuals and UNESCO Cds
Bahawalpur: Rural Media Network Pakistan organised a simple ceremony in the premises of Ali Hamza Petroleum Services situated on Jalalpur Pirwala highways for those senior and young journalists of Bahawalpur district who are working in the marginalised and riverine areas in hostile environment. He gave UNESCO Resource Material for Journalists in Conflict CDs to three senior journalists Syed Azhar Ali Rizvi ( Express ),Azhar Ali Danish(Daily Jang),Muhammad Akmal Sheikh (District Reporter Dunya TV) and young journalist Muhammad Shafique Shehzad ( Mux News).

Addressing the ceremony President RMNP Ehsan Ahmed Sehar said that rural journalists are the backbone of the Pakistan’s media industry and representing 65 percent country population under difficult conditions. Without naming ,he stated that some so-called national organisations never paid heed to their genuine demands. A large number of rural journalists have been killed in the line of the duty since 2000 but only few cases have been traced so far. President RMNP welcomed the passage of long -awaited “Protection of Journalists and Media Professionals Bill,2021 by the National Assembly and hoped that after its approval from Senate, this bill would be implemented in its true letter and spirit. He vowed to continue his struggle for the improvement of the working conditions of the rural journalists. Earlier on his arrival at Ali Hamza Petroleum Services, journalists gave him warm welcome. District Reporter Dunya TV Channel Bahawalpur Muhammad Akmal Sheikh hosted a lunch in the honour of President RMNP Ehsan Ahmed Sehar.
