Rahimyarkhan police fails to trace the blind murder of Nawakot journalist Sagheer Ahmed
AhmedpurEast ( March 21,2024) Ahmedpur Union of Journalists (AUJ) in its meeting has expressed its grave concern over the failure of Khanpur Police which could not trace the blind murder of young journalist Jam Sagheer Ahmed Lar of Nawakot Khanpur ,district RahimyarKhan despite the passage of seven days. Ill-fated journalist Sagheer Ahmed was shot dead on 14th March in Nawakot town of Tehsil Khanpur ,District RahimyarKhan.He was associated with Urdu Daily Khabrain.This emergent meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Rural Media Network Pakistan(RMNP) Ehsan Ahmed Sehar and attended by AUJ office bearers and members.

A resolution was adopted unanimously in the meeting demanded of Chief Minister Punjab Marriam Nawaz Sharif and Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar to issue the orders for the constitution of a high level ” Special Investigative Team” for the investigation of journalist Sagheer Ahmed ‘s blind murder case. It also demanded of Punjab government to submit the challan of the journalist murder case in Anti – Terrorism Court for trial. AUJ meeting offered Fateha for the departed soul and expressed its solidarity with slain journalist Sagheer Ahmed’s family.

Ahmedpur Union of Journalists office bearers and members condoled the sad demise of prominent Pakistani scholar, Editor,debater and author late Agha Shorish Kashmiri ‘s son Mehmood Shorish with his elder brother former Director Current Affairs Pakistan Television and younger brother former Director Information Punjab Mashood Shorish .Participants offered Fateha Khawani for the departed soul and expressed their sympathy with bereaved family in this difficult time.
