PFUJ condemns district bureaucracy for conspiring to demolish Sukkur Press Club
ISLAMABAD – Afzal Butt, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), and Secretary-General Ayub Jan Sarhandi have strongly condemned the district bureaucracy’s tactics against Sukkur Press Club.
In a joint statement, they demanded of the Sindh government to take immediate action against the bureaucracy and elements who have hatched a conspiracy to raze Sukkur Press Club to the ground.
They said the press clubs all over the world serve as centers for freedom of expression and democratic freedom.
Conspiracy of the People’s Party that has rendered uncountable sacrifices for democracy and freedom of citizens, to demolish the Sukkur Press Club is food for thought, they said.
Butt and Sarhandi called upon the People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to take immediate notice.
Expressing solidarity with journalists in Sukkur, they told them not to feel alone in this struggle as the entire journalist community was with them.
