Independent journalism is due to sacrifices of armed forces: Rashid
ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said on Wednesday that Pakistan’s armed forces and intelligence agencies were rendering sacrifices in the war against terrorism and independent journalism in Pakistan was a result of these sacrifices.
Speaking to the media, Rashid said Martyrs Day was being observed to honour those who sacrificed their lives for the security of Pakistan. He said all institutions were independent due to the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces. According to Rashid independent journalism was not part of the terrorists’ agenda.
Rashid also defended the measures implemented by State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali saying that he as a representative of the federal government was trying to stop electricity theft.
