Court orders case against GEO TV owner ,three others

AhmedpurEast.( RMNP) Additional District and Session Judge AhmedpurEast has ordered City Police Station AhmedpurEast to register
a case under sections 295-A,B,C  PPC against owner GEO TV Channel Mir ShakilurRehman, anchor person Dr Shaista Lodhi, Veena Malik and her
husband Asad Khattak on the charge of committing blasphemy in morning show programme aired on the channel.The learned court declared verdict
on a petition filed by General secretary Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf AhmedpurEast Sajid Siraj Jalwana advocate who in his petition filed under 22-A had complained  about the blasphemous programme aired by anchor person Dr Shaista Lodhi recently which had injured religious sentiments of entire Muslim Ummah andrequested the court to order registration of case against all four respondents. The court also disposed of writ petition of District President PML(QA) Bahawalpur Syed Salahuddin Ahmed Jeelani for the registration of case against above mentioned four persons and directed city police to include him as prosecution witness in this case. Meanwhile Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat staged a demonstration against GEO TV channel at Chowk Munir Shaheed under the leadership of Maulana Abdul AzizFaizi,Maulana Ashiq Farid Meharvi,Salahuddin Ahmed Jeelani,Makhdoom Syed Suhail Hassan Gillani and Mufti Mohsin Faizi.Protestors chanted slogans against GEO TV channel and
its owner for airing controversial contents in the morning show ” Utho Jago Pakistan”. Protestors burnt tyres and blocked the road for two hours and expressed their   solidarity with Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
