Baloch journalist Munir Shakir 10th death anniversary observed today

RMNP expresses its deep concern on the failure of provincial government in tracing the killers.
QUETTA— The 10th death anniversary of Baloch journalist Munir Ahmed Shakir was observed on the eve of Pakistan Independence Day 14th August 2021.Despite the passage of one decade,his murder case still remains untraced and slain journalist’s family waiting for justice.

According to details Shakir was shot dead on 14th August 2011 in Kuzdar district of Balochistan province when he was going to home from the Khuzdar Press Club .Earlier he had covered a protest of a Baloch organisation.Reportedly ill-fated Shakir received more than two bullets,he was immediately removed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Slain Munir Shakir was associated with news agency Online and correspondent of Baloch television station Sabzabagh.

Meanwhile Rural Media Network Pakistan has expressed its deep concern on the failure of Balochistan government in tracing the slain journalist Munir Shakir’s ten years old murder case. RMNP demanded to constitute a high level police investigating team for the arrest of the unknown culprits who are still at large.

It is pertinent to mention that Director General UNESCO had condemned this murder on 24th August 2011 mentioning Rural Media Network Pakistan in her statement.
