ARY closes Islamabad office after eight employees test positive for COVID-19

ISLAMABAD—ARY News shut down its Islamabad office on Monday after eight employees tested positive for COVID-19, the network’s founder and CEO said.
Salman Iqbal announced on Twitter that as a precautionary measure, 20 random tests were done out of which eight came out positive with two showing symptoms.
He said that all staff had been asked to stay at home. Every staff member will undergo tests, he said.
On Monday, a senior journalist and a former president of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) employees’ union died of coronavirus.
Last Friday, the APP shut down its offices in Islamabad for three days after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
