Express News, BOL and Samaa mics removed from event at press club
ISLAMABAD – The office-bearers of National Press Club on Monday removed the mics of Express News, BOL and Samaa TV channels from a PML-N press conference in protest against the layoffs of staff by the three organizations, and delay in paying wages.
Former Prime Minister Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal, and Marriyum Aurangzeb were addressing the news conference.
Anwar Raza, secretary of the press club, told the PML-N leaders why the mics were being removed.
The NPC had announced on Sunday that it would not allow Express-News and BOL to cover events held at the club premises.
However, Samaa was added to the list after it served termination notices to several employees on Monday.
