TV journalist Yasir Ayaz missing in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD — A journalist working for private television channel GNN has been reported missing in Islamabad, prompting the broadcaster to file a formal application with police seeking urgent action to locate him.
According to the application submitted by the channel, journalist Yasir Ayaz Khan left his home at approximately 5 p.m. and has not been heard from since. The broadcaster said there had been no contact with him despite repeated efforts by family members and colleagues.
The application stated that multiple attempts were made to reach Khan through his mobile phone and other means, but those efforts were unsuccessful. The situation has caused growing concern among his family and colleagues, who remain unaware of his whereabouts.
GNN said the journalist’s disappearance has also generated anxiety within media circles, where concerns about journalist safety remain a recurring issue. The channel appealed to authorities to take immediate steps to determine his whereabouts and ensure his safe recovery.
