Viral video shows Shahzeb Khanzada harassed in public

ISLAMABAD — A video clip showing Geo News anchor Shahzeb Khanzada being verbally harassed while shopping has gone viral on social media. The footage appears to show Khanzada accompanied by a female companion, who intervenes to tell the person filming that this behavior constitutes harassment.

Confrontation over political commentary

In the clip, the individual confronting Khanzada can be heard criticizing him for his commentary on former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi during his program Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada kay Saath. Khanzada appears visibly shaken as the confrontation unfolds, while the harasser insists: “This is not harassment; we just wanna talk to you man.”

Journalist calls for respect and media safety

Journalist and anchor Meher Bokhari responded to the video on X, stating: “This is not who we were meant to become. Whether it’s PTI supporters harassing @shazbkhanzdaGEO or PMLN supporters circulating fake AI videos of @Benazir_Shah, none of it reflects who we are.
Both are hardworking journalists, people who have dedicated their lives to informing the public despite constant pressure. Sure, nothing makes sense here anymore, but the least we can do is hold on to our values and our respect for one another. Character is what you choose to keep intact when everything around you falls apart.

Senior producer Adeel Raja, who posted the video, added: “It will happen to everyone with time. Shahzeb Khanzada is just getting some of it back. He was instrumental in forming iddat case.” The incident has reignited discussions about the safety of journalists and the increasing risks faced by media professionals in Pakistan.
