Social media activist Kamran Dawar shot dead in Miranshah

Miranshah: Unknown armed gunmen shot dead a social media activist Kamran Dawar in the Tappi area of Miranshah in North Waziristan on Tuesday evening. According to details, Kaman was on his way to home when unidentified gunmen opened firing on him. He was seriously injured in the firing .Ill-fated Kamran succumbed to injuries while he was being removed to hospital. No information about the killers and the motive behind the murder, police said. Kamran Dawar was active on social media and running a Facebook video channel called Waziristan TV. Meanwhile Waziristan Union of Journalists & Press Club Miranshah in their combined meeting demanded of Chief Minister Pakhtunkhwa for the immediate arrest of the killers and pay compensation to slain social media activist Kamran Dawar’s family. President Waziristan Union of Journalists Haji Pazeer Gul and President Press Club Miranshah Asadullah Wazir expressed their deep concern over the worsening law and order situation in North Waziristan and said that Kamran Dawar is the fourth journalist after Hayatullah Khan, Malik Mumtaz Khan and Shafiullah shot dead in North Waziristan. It was disclosed in this meeting that Kamran Dawar had informed his colleagues about serious threats which he received and he had also filed an application for the membership of Miranshah Press club.
