Saleem Safi withdraws tweet about his column that Jang dropped
ISLAMABAD – Saleem Safi, an analyst, and columnist, on Sunday withdrew a tweet complaining an article he wrote for Daily Jang was not published because of censorship.
In his tweet posted at 2:03 am Sunday, he had said: “My latest article on current political situation which could not published (sic) in Daily Jang due to current censorship.”
Safi, also posted the rejected article along with his tweet.
However, hours later, that tweet was withdrawn, the linking page saying: ‘Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!’
In recent months some other journalists and columnists have also complained of their articles being dropped, terming it censorship, among them Syed Talat Hussain and Mosharraf Zaidi.
