News channels asked to ensure safety of staff against coronavirus
ISLAMABAD—The district administration Islamabad on Monday directed the news channels to ensure the safety of the workers against COVID-19 by taking precautionary measures.
According to a notification issued by the district magistrate, Islamabad, media personnel including reporters, camerapersons, and other field staff of television channels perform their duties for covering corona-related issues and visit the affected areas. “Performing duties under hazardous conditions is commendable. However, their job entails serious health risks and thus requires utmost precautions and safety measures,” the notification said.
It further said that the management of channels should ensure that all their staff strictly adheres to the SOPs issued from time to time regarding COVID-19 and ensure that they wear protection kits, gloves, and face masks when in the field and the offices and studios.
