“May 3d celebrates World Press Freedom Day, but media and journalists throughout the world work every day to inform the people so that men and women can act and decide about their lives, based on facts and information of public interest. This task of informing has never been so important in the light of the rumors and level of disinformation circulating, and so dangerous, in contexts where the public spaces are threatened and shrinking.
This year’s topic of WPFD focuses on the role of media and journalists to inform about climate change and environmental issues. Todays’ life in many societies are so heavily impacted by the causes and consequences of climate change that media must cover it, explain the phenomenon, give a voice to the people affected and share solutions.
