Masked men attack Jang’s resident editor in Multan
MULTAN:( South Punjab) Unknown arms-wielding masked men attacked the Resident Editor of the daily Jang Zafar Aheer and left him injured near Western Ford Colony in Multan on early Saturday, Geo News reported.
Zafar Aheer was attacked when he was moving back home after performing his job. He told Geo News that the attackers stopped his car near his residence and started beating him.
“The attackers beat me a lot, tore my cloths and snatched my mobile phone.”
An eyewitness told Geo news that more than six attackers were on two motorbikes and a car.
The eyewitness said that he rushed outside after hearing noises. An armed man at the back pointed gun on his stomach and asked him to return, he added.
“The armed man said you have nothing to do with this, go away,” he said.
The attackers threw bullets of Kalashnikovs in front of Aheer’s car before escaping the site.
Meanwhile, SP Cantt said that it is pre-mature to say anything at this moment about the incident and that the investigation has been kicked off.
The injured resident editor of Jang told that the attackers conversing with each other said to shoot him on the legs.
“They called me an agent of India and Jews, and a traitor,” he added.
He stated that attackers while beating him said that he had escaped once and how would he manage to flee today.
Zafar Aheer said that he loves companions of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and Ahle Bait.
“I am Pakistani and love Pakistan,” he added.
