Magazine editor Anis-ur-Rehman goes missing in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD—Muhammad Anis-ur-Rehman, editor of Nawa-e-Waqt Group’s magazine Nada-e-Millat and author of several books, has gone missing from Islamabad since Wednesday.
Arshad Ansari, President of the Lahore Press Club, tells JournalismPakistan.com that Rehman went missing four days ago in the federal capital. However, the authorities had failed to trace him.
Ansari expressed grave concern and said: “We are in contact with people in Islamabad. However, there has been no development yet.”
According to Baaghi TV, Rehman reportedly went to the Saudi Embassy Wednesday afternoon for some work. He had gone there in a friend’s car.
Journalist associations, including Punjab Union of Journalists and others, have called on the government to take immediate steps to locate the journalist.
