Winnipeg (Canada): Lt-Gov Anita Neville presented King Charles 111 Medal to Betsy Burt the widow of Past President Commonwealth Journalists Association Murray Burt on the eve of Commonwealth Day on 10th March,2025 as a recognition of his services which he rendered as President Royal Commonwealth Society Manitoba for several years.

King Charles 111 Medal awarded ceremony was held in the premises of Government House Manitoba which was also attended by Late Murray Burt’s daughter Katherine Grimshaw and new President Royal Commonwealth Society Manitoba, Canada Mr. Peter Kingsley. It is pertinent to mention that Murray Burt had passed away in Winnipeg hospital on 12th May 2024 after a brief illness.

Meanwhile President Rural Media Network Pakistan Ehsan Ahmed Sehar has congratulated late Murray Burt widow Betsy Burt and daughter Katherine Grimshaw on receiving King Charles 111 Medal posthumously for Murray Burt. He paid rich tribute to the late Murray Burt who was a staunch supporter of press freedom in the Commonwealth. Late Murray Burt was our close friend who supported RMNP activities in the fields of training of journalists and publication of training manuals, he stated. RMNP President also thanked Royal Commonwealth Society Manitoba and Lt. Gov Manitoba for selecting the late Murray Burt for King Charles 111 Medal.
