KhUJ condemns harassment of journalist Jamshed Baghwan

PESHAWAR—Khyber Union of Journalists (Khuj) on Tuesday strongly condemned manhandling of Express News Bureau Chief Jamshed Baghwan in Peshawar and demanded strict against those responsible.

In a joint statement, KhUJ President Fida Khattak and General Secretary Muhammad Naeem expressed concern over the harassment of Jamshed and threats given to him by three individuals on motorbikes.

They termed the attack an attempt to suppress media, adding that such tactics could not stop journalists from speaking the truth.

The body urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government and Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sanaullah Abbasi, to take strict action against the perpetrators.

Three unknown motor bikers manhandled Baghwan in front of traffic police headquarters as he headed for work on Monday.
