Journalist Janan Hussain killed during attack on passenger’s vehicles in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Parachinar: Janan Hussain (28) Secretary Press Club Parachinar & Correspondent news channel 365 was shot dead in Kurram agency on 20th November. According to details Janan Hussain was returning to Parachinar from a visit to Malaysia on Wednesday when the convoy he was travelling came under heavy fire. He is the 11th media worker killed in Pakistan during current year as per monitoring of the Rural Media Network Pakistan (RMNP).The attack left the local community in shock and educational institutions in Parachinar were closed in mourning. It has been leant that despite losing a leg in a landmine explosion in 2009, Janan persevered in his career and life. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and supported his family by combining journalism with a job at a medical company. Local journalists community expressed its deep shock on the killing of their colleague Janan Hussain and demanded of Chief Minister KP province to provide safety cover to the scribes working in this region. Meanwhile , Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Saif announced that financial compensation and a martyr’s package would be provided to Janan Hussain’s family.
