Geo Anchor Hamid Mir injured in attack in Karachi

Geo Anchor Hamid Mir was seriously injured when his car was attacked near Natha Khan bridge at Shahra- e- Faisal in Karachi. Unknown armed men ambushed Mir’s vehicle when he was traveling from air po…rt to Geo office. He received bullet injuries and was shifted to a private hospital.

Sources confirmed that four gunmen riding two motorcycles opened fire on Hamid Mir’s car a few kilometers away from the Airport police station.

Karachi police chief, Shahid Hayat said Mir has been shot twice.

According to Geo News Islamabad bureau chief, Rana Jawad, Mir spoke to him after being attacked and said that the gunmen were following him and continue to fire at the car.

Geo News reports that gunmen continued to fire on his car from near the airport to the place where he was finally attacked.

In November 2012, explosives were found under the vehicle of Mir in Islamabad when he had gone for some work with his driver and parked his car for a little.

According to latest reports he was being treated in intensive care. Hospital sources were tight lipped about his condition.
