Veteran Pakistani journalist Agha Shorish Kashmiri 46th death anniversary observed
Lahore: Veteran Pakistani journalist and author late Agha Shorish Kashmiri Editor “Chatan” Lahore 46th death anniversary observed here in befitting manner. Main ceremony was held at late Agha Shorish Kashmiri’s Mall road Lahore’s residence today which was attended by his four sons Agha Masood Shorish , Agha Mehmood Shorish, Ahga Mashood Shorish,Agha Mubashar Shorish and five daughters Ms Shaista Shorish, Ms Shahida Shorish,Ms Touseef Shorish ,Ms Ambreen Shorish and Ms Attiqa Shorish along with their other family members, friends and journalists. Quran Khawani was offered for the departed soul of late Agha Shorish Kashmiri and food was distributed among participants. Later Agha Shorish Kasmiri’s sons, daughters and other family members drove to Miani Sahib graveyard and laid floral wreaths on his grave and offered Fateha.
It is worth mentioning that late Agha Shorish Kashmiri was an author of 27 titles and Editor-in-Chief of famous leading weekly “Chatan”.He was one of leading editors of the Pakistan, who was put behind bars for several times by military dictators and so-called democratic governments for his criticism. His Weekly “Chatan” declarations were also cancelled for dozens times besides the sealing of his both printing presses. Agha Shorish Kashmiri passed away on 25th October 1975 in Lahore.
