Timely digitalization can ‘catapult’ Pakistan to progress: President Alvi
ISLAMABAD – President Arif Alvi has expressed the confidence that Pakistan will be catapulted to the new era much faster if it takes full benefit from the information technology.
Addressing the Digital Government Summit here yesterday, he envisioned that it is a matter of time that Pakistan will be one of the most important countries in the comity of nations if it keeps on making smart decisions. Alluding to the massive information available on the internet, the President said the communication has improved significantly as a result of technology. He said though the Covid-19 badly affected the economies, but its side benefit has been that it pushed the people to seek education through online system. He said the information technology has heralded an era of innovation.
The President has called for shifting Brick-and-Mortar development projects to the intellectual development of human resources.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Information Technology Syed Amin-ul-Haque said the government is ready to adopt innovations for improvement of governance.
