Two rural journalists killed and third one injured in three incidents
Khanewal+AhmedpuEast+Shikarpur( Rural Pakistan)Two rural journalists Tajammul Hussain Sial of AhmedpurEast and Rao Murtaza Wahab of Khanewal (South Punjab) passed away in two different incidents while third rural journalist Jamil Mahar sustained injuries when unknown armed persons shot at his both legs in Shikarpur district of Sindh province.
According to details senior local journalist Tajammul Hussein Sial of AhmedpurEast died in road accident on Tibbi Izzat road.He left behind a widow and seven children.Deceased journalists contributed to several newspapers for more than twenty years.
The second incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Sara-e- Sudhu police station of Khanewal district on 1st June 2020 at 9.30 A.M,where four unknown armed robbers intercepted motorbike rider journalist Rao Murtaza Wahab and snatched Rs 1,00,000 and mobile from him. On his resistance, they shot him dead and fled away in the cover of indiscriminate aerial firing. Slain journalist Ghulam Murtaza Wahab was Correspondent of Daily Jehan-e-Pakistan Jodhpur of Khanewal district South Punjab. He was survived by a widow, two sons and one daughter. Slain Murtaza Wahab was associated with profession of journalism for last eight years.
Third incident reported from Lakhi Ghulam Shah of Shikarpur district ,Sindh province, where armed persons shot at Jamil Mahar, Vice President Union of journalists Shikarpur .He received bullets injuries in his both legs and removed to Sukkur hospital in critical condition. President Union of Journalists Shikarpur Ahga Asrar Pathan has condemned an assault on the journalist Jamil Mahar in the line of duty. He demanded Chief Minister Sindh province for the immediate arrest of the culprits.
