RMNP award winner passed away in Saudi Arabia
RMNP coordinator and leading press freedom advocate Mazhar Raheed Misson passed away in Makkah Mukarma during his stay in Saudi Arabia for Umrah.He was President Press Club Mubarakur & correspondent Daily Jang.He remained associated with profession of journalism for more than thirty years.First of all he started World Press Freedom Day celebration in rural Pakistan on 3rd May 2002 under the auspices of National Press Union and newspaper Nawa-I-AhmedpurSharqia.Late Mazhar Rasheed was the first recipient of RMNP Sadiq Press Freedom Award in 2005.
According to details Mazhar Rasheed Misson along with his aged mother, wife and three children had gone to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.The family came back to Makkah after visiting Medina Munawarrah two days ago and again performed their second Umrah.Mazhar Rasheed was in Khana Kaaba for his mother’s Tawaf when he suffered with heart attack.He was immediately removed to hospital where he died.His Namaz-e-Janaza was offered in Khana Kaaba this morning and dead body buried in graveyard JannatulMualla.Deceased was general secretary National Press Union Sub-division AhmedpurEast.He also served as general secretary Bahawalpur Union of Journalists Bahawalpur.Meanwhile Ghaibana Namaz-e- Janaza of late Mazhar Rasheed Misson was offered in EidGah Mubarakpur which was largely attended by hundreds of people and journalists.A condolence reference for late Mazhar Rasheed Misson will be held on 26th June(Tuesday) at 6 PM in press club Mubarakpur which will be chaired by President Rural Media Network Pakistan (RMNP) Ehsan Ahmed Sehar.
