Senior Journalist Journalist found dead in Lahore
Lahore: Senior sub-editor of Daily Waqt Mazhar Husain Joya was found dead in his house on Thursday morning. He belonged to Piplan village in Mianwali. He was alone in his house and was found dead by neighbours. Police were informed who sent the body for postmortem. No immediate cause of death was known. Later, his body was handed over to the family. According to details 45-year-old journalist was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances from a house in Baghbanpura. Mazhar Hussain Joiya, sub-editor at a local Urdu newspaper, was lying dead in the bedroom as the police reached the spot. A housemaid witnessed the body on Thursay morning and alerted the police. Relatives of the journalist told the police investigators that Joiya was living alone at the house since he had divorced his wife. The couple was issueless. Police handed over the body to the family after the autopsy. The body was taken to his native town. The police are investigating.Funeral prayers was offered in Piplan village in Mianwali at 8am on Friday morning. —
