CPNE announces the formation of its Punjab Committee for the year 2026–27
KARACHI: The Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has announced the formation of its Punjab Committee for the year 2026–27.
According to details, Mian Hassan Ahmed has been appointed as Chairman of the Punjab Committee, while Ayaz Khan will serve as Deputy Chairman. Other members of the committee include Kazim Khan, Irshad Ahmed Arif, Babar Nizami, Zia Tanoli, Jameel Athar Qazi, Nadeem Basra, Dr. Zubair Mahmood, Zulfiqar Ahmed Rahat, Ali Ahmed Dhillon, Tanveer Shaukat, Waqas Tariq Farooq, Muhammad Owais Razi, Farrukh Shahbaz Warraich, Muhammad Akmal Chaudhry, Sardar Ubaid-ul-Aleem, Sardar Tahir Mahmood, Imtiaz Rohani, Shahzad Amin, Usman Ghani Saifi, Syed Intizar Hussain Zanjani, Aslam Mian, and Safdar Ali Khan.
The committee has been constituted to safeguard the interests of CPNE member newspapers and magazines operating in Punjab and to promote the development of the print media sector. Its responsibilities include organizing media-related activities such as functions, workshops, and seminars aimed at enhancing professional standards in print journalism.
The committee will also assist the Standing Committee in organizing CPNE meetings and events across Punjab, carry out assignments delegated by the Secretary General and the Standing Committee, review matters concerning the press and present recommendations to the Standing Committee, and arrange various programs to highlight the role and importance of the press in society.
