Free Press Unlimited Expresses Solidarity with Pakistani Journalists on World Press Freedom Day 2026
Executive Director Ruth Kronenburg Commends Rural Media Network Pakistan for Promoting Dialogue on Press Freedom Issues
On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day 2026, Free Press Unlimited expresses its solidarity with journalists and media organisations in Pakistan and around the world who continue to do their work under pressure.
Pakistan’s media landscape is vibrant and outspoken, yet vulnerable. Journalists face safety risks, economic pressures, and growing constraints on independent reporting. Impunity for crimes against journalists remains a serious concern, further undermining press freedom across the media landscape.
Through our work with our Pakistani partners, we see firsthand the resilience and determination of journalists who continue to report despite these pressures.
We commend the efforts of Rural Media Network Pakistan for facilitating the dialogue on these important issues and for their continued commitment to press freedom.
