Late journalist Gulzar Ahmed Chaudhry son receives RMNP Sadiq Press Freedom Award 2017
Bahawalnagar(Rural Pakistan) Late journalist Gulzar Ahmed Chaudhry’s son Muhammad Ahmed Chaudhry President Bahawalnagar Press Club & District Reporter ARY TV channel received RMNP Sadiq Press Freedom Award 2017 with a net cash of PKR 50,000 on the eve of World Press Freedom Day seminar held in the premises of Press Club Bahawalnagar on 3rd May.
This year the award was instituted with the support of media consultant and former Director International Press Institute(IPI)Mrs Alison Bethel McKenzie.On this occasion RMNP President Ehsan Ahmed Sehar paid rich tributes to the late journalist,saying that he was symbol of struggle for the freedom of press.Gulzar Ahmed Chaudhry who died on January 14,2017 had about 57 years experience in journalism.He had been affiliated with leading newspapers of the country including Nawa-r-Waqt,Pakistan Times and Dawn.He was also life time president of Bahawalnagar Press Club. RMNP Sadiq Press Freedom Award 2017 ceremony a was organised by Bahawalnagar Press Club in collaboration with Rural Media Network Pakistan(RMNP) on 3rd May at 11 am.It was chaired by President RMNP Ehsan Ahmed Sehar while Chairman Municipal Committee Donga Bonga Rao Muhammad Saleem Akhtar was the chief guest.Three members RMNP team comprising Ehsan Ahmed Sehar President RMNP, Muhammad Suleman Farooqi Coordinator RMNP AhmedpurEast Subdivision,and Syed TanveerulHassan Bukhari member coordination committee RMNP drove to Bahawalnagar along with Abdul Qadir Qadiri to attend this splendid event.Muhammad Suleman Farooqi read the message of Director General UNESCO in WPFD seminar translated in Urdu language while Syed TanveerulHassan Bukhari highlighted the background of Sadiq Press Freedom Award.
